Current Volunteer Opportunities

President

Impact: Ensures the long-term viability and mission integrity of Brighter Horizon. Secures organizational stability, protects fiscal health, and serves as the chief mission advocate to major stakeholders and partners. 

Skills Needed: Non-Profit Governance, Strategic Planning (3-5 year vision), Resource Development (major fundraising/partnership experience), and Executive Leadership. 

Vice President

Impact: Guarantees high-quality program delivery and consistency. Oversees volunteer recruitment, training, and support to ensure the curriculum is delivered effectively, sensitively, and aligned with measurable outcomes for women in recovery.

Skills Needed: Program Management (design and evaluation), Volunteer Coordination, Trauma-Informed Education principles, and strong interpersonal/team leadership skills. 

Grant Writer/Fundraising Support

Impact: Secure the funding necessary to keep our programs free. 

Skills Needed: Experience researching, writing, and submitting grant applications for non-profits, or assistance with donor outreach campaigns. 

Curriculum Development Specialist

Impact: Help keep our educational materials current, relevant, and trauma-informed. 

Skills Needed: Background in education, curriculum design, or technical writing. This is a flexible, project-based role. 

Administrative & Outreach Support

Impact: Help us manage communications, schedule workshops, and coordinate volunteer efforts.

Skills Needed: Strong organizational skills and experience with basic CRM/scheduling software.
